About

About Me

My name is Jaclyn Havlicek and I am a New York State licensed and ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist. I graduated with my masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from Long Island University, CW Post Campus, in 2007. Since then, I have had the privilege of providing exceptional care to the community while working in the rehabilitation department of one of the largest medical centers in Suffolk County. I continue to work with pediatric and adult populations and offer over 10 years experience in the evaluation and treatment of a wide variety of communication disorders and swallowing disorders. I have been certified in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT LOUD TM) since 2010 and I am also trained in PROMPT therapy. I continuously strive to offer thorough assessments and the best evidence based treatment that my patients deserve.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am also actively involved in the community. I have presented at Parkinson's Disease support groups across Suffolk County. In 2011, I had the privilege of being one of the special presenters at the APDA's walk-a-thon. In 2017, I presented on communication disorders associated with stroke in Bay Shore.

My family and I have been residents in the Holbrook-Ronkonkoma area for over 8 years. I am honored to be able to provide my services to such a wonderful community. I currently provide services in the comfort and convenience of your own home. Please contact me regarding insurance and payment information.

Treatment

Specializing in speech, language, and swallowing therapy for children and adults

Speech

Production of sounds in our language.

Language

How we put words together to form messages that others can understand. Receptive language is our ability to understand language, while expressive language is our ability to express ourselves.

Swallowing

Difficulty with swallowing is called Dysphagia. There may be many reasons why a person may experience difficulty swallowing, however it is important to discuss any difficulties swallowing with your doctor and obtain a swallowing evaluation by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in order to rule out concerns for aspiration (foreign bodies entering the airway), establish a treatment plan, and determine if there are any strategies or maneuvers that may be effective in improving the safety and efficiency of the swallow.
